I'm a guy, can i wear a thong to Rio beach, Brazil?

Hi, I'm going on holiday to Rio next year and I know a lot of girls there wear thongs on the beach. I'm a guy and I think i'm in pretty good shape, would it be acceptable for me to wear a thong to sunbathe/swim in? Do many guys wear thongs in Brazil? Thanks

Yes, it is appropriate for you to wear a thong. I visited Brazil a number of years ago and men were wearing thongs, even back then. However, I did notice that "hairy" men did not wear thongs. So plan on waxing or shaving if that's the way you want to go. Go for it! Enjoy your trip!
I guess you could if you wanted to. I guess the real question is ... why do you have to ask, since Brazil is known fore nude beaches and such. I guess it all just depends on what you are comfortable wearing.

It depends on what do you mean by THONG! Is it like a woman's thong? ...like with yoor bum exposed??? If so I have warn you NOT TO WEAR IT! Guys in Brasil wear 'sunga' or bermuda! Even gay man won't use a thong in public beaches! Completely wrong!!!! There're a few nudety beaches, but they're all away from the cities. There's no need to wax or shave to wear any kind of swin trunks. Hope it helps!
