Why do some girls wear make up to the beach?

Its summer time where I am, going through a heat wave, it is sososososo hot, everybody is at the beach. Though I notice that some girls wear make up. Why is that? Are they trying to impress boys? I really dont understand!

1. Probably to impress boys, or just look nice. But I mean you never know it could be waterproof makeup...

5. Some girls only go the the beach to tan.. they never even touch the water. Therefore they can wear makeup. Why does it matter?!

10. Well I wear it to the beach all the tim. Not to impress people or look cool. It makes some people feel good. That's why I do it. It makes me feel better about myself so I am more confident and spend less time worrying about how i look and more time having fun in the sun.
