How long would it take to drive from Rio to Fortaleza (Brazil) ?

I am trying to get to a hang gliding competition in Ceara , Brazil. The nearest town is Fortaleza. The airlines will not take hang gliders to Fortaleza because it is too big.So I am considering driving from rio to fortaleza - how long would it take me ?

1. it's a very long trip... it's 2805 kilometers and it would take at least two days and a lot of fuel... some roads are in pretty bad shape....
2. When I was a kid, me and my family used to travel from Rio to Salvador by car. It took us about 2 day to get there. It seemed to be an eternity at that time. Today I would enjoy it a lot more. It will be a great opportunity for you to know more about the country. There are beautiful places to visit (Guarapari, Porto Seguro, to name a few). From Salvador to Fortaleza it'll take one more day, I guess. The road in the state of Espirito Santo is good, but in Rio de Janeiro, Bahia aren't good, unfortunately. I wish you a nice trip.
